Technology Predictions for 2021

Now that we have made it through 2020, it’s time to dive into what we can expect 2021 to bring us. Though we can’t predict everything that will happen this year, we have a good idea of what technology predictions for 2021 will be correct. Let’s get into it!

Anywhere Operations

With many people working remotely, the prediction for more businesses to expand or start as a work from anywhere model is one of the top technology predictions for 2021. This means that more companies will be investing in better cloud-based systems that make work easy to access and more secure.

AR Shopping

Even before COVID-19 hit, in-person retail was declining due to the convenience of online shopping. However, there are some retail purchases that people would prefer to make in person. Therefore, AR (augmented reality) is being integrated more into online shopping for smartphone users. This advanced technology can give people the ability to test out a pair of glasses, new makeup shades, clothing, etc.

Post-COVID Automations

Will we be living in a contactless world? With the need for fewer human-to-human interactions, the innovation of more post-COVID automation is a technology prediction for 2021. Even after things “return to normal,” experts believe we will continue to move towards automated services in the future.

Advancements in Virtual Collaborations

Teams? Zoom? At this point, we have heard of and used all these video chat platforms. There have been some major improvements made during the pandemic, but there is so much more that can be done to enhance the video conferencing user experience.

Healthcare & Cybercrime

With more virtual healthcare options now than ever before, cybercriminals will be targeting you, your doctors, and the companies responsible for the telehealth services/application to steal your sensitive information. Because of this, advancements in cybersecurity for telehealth platforms are a technology prediction for 2021.
