01What is Managed Detection and Response (MDR)?
MDR is 24/7 threat detection and response with hunting and specialist follow-through, not only an alert dashboard. EMPIST MDR includes SIEM access, EDR depth, and clear incident reporting.
02Is MDR included in every Managed IT package?
No. MDR / SOC / SIEM is included on Premium. On Advanced and Cloud it is an optional add-on. Essentials and Standard do not include MDR by default.
03How is MDR different from antivirus or EDR alone?
EDR watches the device. MDR adds continuous monitoring, hunting, and response ownership so signals become action, including after hours.
04Who needs MDR most?
Teams with higher risk, regulated work, or no internal SOC. Chicago finance, legal, healthcare, and growing SMBs often choose Premium or Advanced plus MDR.
